FAQ
What type of coconut charcoal briquettes do you export?
We export premium coconut shell charcoal briquettes in two main formats:
- Cube briquettes: for shisha/hookah use. Available in 20mm, 25mm, and 27mm sizes.
- Hexagonal / Pillow briquettes: for BBQ and outdoor grilling applications.
All briquettes are manufactured from 100% coconut shell charcoal, no coal blending, no chemical additives. Binder used: natural tapioca starch only. Products are food-safe and suitable for direct-flame cooking. Available any shape and specs request.
Is your charcoal 100% coconut shell with no additives?
Yes. Our briquettes are made exclusively from pure coconut shell charcoal with natural tapioca starch as a binder, zero chemical additives, zero coal blending.
This is a critical differentiator for shisha markets in the GCC and EU, where end-consumers are sensitive to taste contamination and health compliance standards. CoA documentation confirms the absence of harmful additives in every production batch.
What certifications are available?
We provide the following documentation for every shipment as standard:
- Certificate of Analysis (COA): Available upon request.
- Certificate of Origin (COO): Issued by the local Chamber of Commerce (KADIN).
- MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): Mandatory for DG compliance under UN 1361, Class 4.2.
Can I request a product sample before placing an order?
Yes. We provide a 1–2 kg sample pack in your chosen grade and briquette format. Qualified buyers are prioritized.
- Sample cost: Free Sample no charge for the product. International Shipping cost (DHL / FedEX is borne by the buyer.
- Lead time: 3–5 business days dispatch from Semarang via DHL or FedEx.
- What’s included: Product sample + product spec sheet.
What are your minimum order quantities (MOQ)?
Our minimum order quantity is 1 × 20ft FCL with a net weight of 16–18 MT. This applies to all first-time and trial orders. A 20ft container is the smallest viable shipping unit for coconut charcoal briquettes under DG classification (UN 1361, Class 4.2), as LCL shipments are generally not accepted by major ocean carriers for this cargo type. For buyers looking to scale, we recommend transitioning to 1 × 40ft HC FCL (24–26 MT net) from the second order onward for better freight efficiency and lower landed cost per MT.
What are your payment terms?
Standard payment terms for all buyers (T/T) :
- 50% Down Payment (DP): Due before production begins. Production is confirmed only upon receipt of DP.
- 50% Balance Payment: Due before container stuffing / before shipment. Release of Bill of Lading (BL) is contingent on full payment.
What Incoterms do you offer?
Our primary export term is:
- FOB: Seller’s responsibility ends at the port of loading. Freight, insurance, and onward logistics are the buyer’s responsibility from this point.
- CNF: to destination port for buyers who prefer a landed cost quote
- CIF: to destination port for buyers who prefer a landed cost quote with insurance
How is coconut charcoal classified for international shipping?
Coconut charcoal briquettes are classified as Dangerous Goods (DG) under IMDG regulations:
- UN Number: UN 1361
- Hazard Class: 4.2, Flammable Solid (liable to spontaneous combustion)
- Packing Group: III
This requires DG-compliant packaging per IMDG Packing Instruction P002, proper hazard labeling, and acceptance by DG-certified ocean carriers.
We manage all DG documentation from origin (Tanjung Emas, Semarang). Our active carrier relationships include MSC, CMA CGM, and Maersk all DG-certified for UN 1361.
Is your product compliant for import into the EU?
Yes. Our coconut charcoal briquettes are compliant with EU import requirements:
- EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR): Coconut shell charcoal is sourced from agricultural waste, no deforestation risk by definition. Supply chain traceability documentation is available upon request.
- REACH Compliance: No SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) present in formulation.
HS Code: 4402.90, Wood charcoal, other.
Do you offer private label / OEM packaging?
Yes. Full OEM / private label packaging is available with the following options:
- Retail box: Custom design with your brand and artwork.
- Inner pack sizes: 1 kg, 2 kg, 3 kg, 10 kg retail, or 10 kg / 20 kg master carton.

Why source coconut charcoal from Indonesia?
Indonesia is the world’s largest coconut producer, accounting for over 28% of global supply. This translates into tangible sourcing advantages:
- Supply continuity: Year-round raw material availability with no seasonal gaps.
- Competitive FOB pricing: Structurally lower cost vs. Philippine or Sri Lankan origin due to domestic abundance.
Indonesia exported 188,050 tonnes of coconut charcoal valued at ~USD 145 million in 2023 (BPS / Ditjen Perkebunan), cementing its position as the dominant global origin for B2B buyers.
